Homemade Lasagna: Freezer Friendly Recipe

Lasagna is super comforting and the perfect dish for hosting a crowd. I like to make a double recipe and immediately freeze one to have at a later time!

Ingredients

  • 9–12 Oven Ready lasagna noodles
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1/2 an onion, diced
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 24 oz marinara
  • 15 oz ricotta
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • Salt & pepper

Directions

  1. Brown meat. Once almost cooked through, add in diced onion and garlic.
  2. Stir in marinara.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta, egg, parmesan, parsley, salt, pepper.
  4. In a greased 9×13 pan, layer: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella. Repeat until pan is full, ideally ending with mozzarella.
  5. Cover with foil.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-60 minutes or until bubbly, removing the foil for the last 15 minutes.
  7. *Broil for approximately 3-5 mins for a crispy and golden cheese crust, but watch closely so it does not burn!*

To Freeze

  • Use an aluminum foil pan and wrap tightly in plastic wrap or foil lid
  • Freeze before baking for best texture.
  • Thaw overnight before baking.
